A video of a politician is doing rounds on social media where he is seen warning a journalist against the Modi and Yogi government.
According to the claim, he is a BJP leader.
In the video, he can be heard asking the journalist if he cares for his family. he warns the journalist to stop asking questions against the government otherwise he’ll meet the same fate as Gauri Lankesh.

When NewsMobile fact-checked the video, we found that he is NOT a BJP leader.
We found the original video on the YouTube channel of Times of Today which was uploaded on Nov 16, 2019. The title of the video reads, “मोदी – योगी से डरे बनारस के मिश्रा जी, दिया ये विवादित बयान”.
In the video, at 1:30 minutes, the reporter introduces this man as Harish Mishra
Harish Mishra is the former Congress Seva Dal state president. His name is present on the list of Uttar Pradesh Congress Seva Dal Office bearers 2017-1018.
The viral clip can be seen at the 11:44 minutes of the extended video when the reporter asks him about farmer suicide. In the video, it is evident that Harish Mishra is taking a dig at the government with this sarcastic comment.

Reporter: लगातार किसान आत्महत्या कर रहे है। किसानों के बारे में क्या सोच रही है बीजेपी गवर्नमेंट।
(Translation- Farmers are committing suicide continuously. What is the BJP government’s take on it?)
