NewsMobile investigated the viral claim and found that the images are AI-generated.
A comprehensive Reverse Image Search, along with relevant keyword-based searches, did not yield any credible media coverage, authentic photographs, or official social media posts supporting the claim. Importantly, neither Virat Kohli nor Anushka Sharma has shared such images on their verified social media handles.
Upon closer examination, the visuals display multiple indicators of AI manipulation. These include inconsistent lighting patterns, unnatural facial blending, distorted detailing around facial features, and overly smooth, artificial-looking backgrounds — all common hallmarks of digitally fabricated content.
To further authenticate the findings, NewsMobile analysed the images using AI-detection tools Sightengine and Hive Moderation. Both platforms independently flagged the visuals as AI-generated.
In conclusion, the viral images claiming to show Virat Kohli surprising Anushka Sharma with flowers are digitally fabricated and not authentic.
