The NM team began its investigation by running a keyword search to find credible media reports carrying BJP MP Manoj Tiwari‘s purported statement on the Ram Mandir donation controversy. However, the search did not yield any reports from credible media outlets carrying the alleged remarks. The absence of any authentic news coverage raised doubts about the authenticity of the viral graphic.
We then examined Manoj Tiwari’s official social media handles to verify whether he had made any such statement. No such post was found. Instead, a post shared by him on his official X handle, dated June 22, 2026, was found, in which he categorically dismissed the viral claim as fake. In the post, he wrote, “Immediate action should be taken against this Naajiya who spreads fake news. I did not give such a statement nor can I even think like that. I request @XCorpIndia and @X to take action against this fake news. This is dangerous for my image and society.”

Digging deeper, we searched the official social media handles of Navbharat Times and found a clarification issued by the publication regarding fake posts circulating in its name. The post stated, “Over the past few days, several fake posts under the name of NBT have been going viral on social media, through which attempts are being made to spread misleading and incorrect information. Please remain cautious. All these posts are completely fake. Legal action will be taken against those misusing the name of NBT. For verifying the authenticity of any news and official information, rely only on NBT’s official social media handles and platforms.”
