A video purportedly showing Ex Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announcing his resignation for personal reasons has gone viral on social media.

NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the video is a Deepfake.
The NM team initiated its verification by conducting a keyword search but found no credible reports suggesting that Dharmendra Pradhan had made the statement heard in the viral clip. A review of his official social media accounts also revealed no speech, post, or public address containing the purported remarks.
Moreover, during the verification, we found that PIB Fact Check had also addressed the viral clip. The fact-check handle shared a comparison of the original and the manipulated videos, clarifying that the viral video had been digitally altered.

We also found the original video on the YouTube channel of ET Now, uploaded on May 15, in which Dharmendra Pradhan announces the NEET UG 2026 retest date as June 21. The video makes no mention of his resignation, confirming that the viral clip is unrelated to the claim and is based on months-old footage.
To further verify the authenticity of the viral clip, the NM team ran the video through an AI detection tool. The analysis by Hive Moderation flagged the clip as highly likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.
Hence, it is evident that the viral post claiming that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made the purported statement is false. The viral video is a deepfake.
