A video showing a woman beating a man sitting inside a car with slippers is being widely shared on social media with the claim that a “Bangladeshi jihadi” was caught at Delhi University trying to trap Hindu girls in “love jihad.”
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:
A Bangladeshi jihadi was giving false advice to Hindu girls at Delhi University to trap them in love jihad.
Then the girl students showed courage and caught the jihadi red-handed and beat him with shoes and slippers. Then they handed him over to the police.

NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.
To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the video. This led us to the same footage published on 26 April by Bangladeshi news outlets Boishakhi TV and Banglanews24.
According to these reports, the incident took place at the University of Dhaka, not in Delhi. A female student confronted and slapped a man for allegedly making obscene gestures and harassing women on campus.
A keyword search further led us to a report by The Daily Campus, which confirmed that the incident occurred near the Faculty of Business Studies at the university on 26 April. The report stated that the accused was an outsider who was detained and beaten by students before being handed over to the police.

The university’s Assistant Proctor, Ali Mohammad Kawsar, also confirmed that the man was not affiliated with the university and was apprehended by students after allegedly harassing female students.
There is no evidence linking the incident to Delhi University or to any “love jihad” angle.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show a ‘Bangladeshi jihadi’ was caught at Delhi University trying to trap Hindu girls in love jihad, is false.
