A video purportedly showing Kakanur Nagaraj Naidu, Additional Secretary (Americas Division) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), making controversial remarks about the Quad grouping and Israel is being widely shared on social media.
In the viral clip, Naidu is allegedly heard saying: “For those saying Quad is over, it’s not. We don’t care even if United States, Japan, or Australia leaves Quad. Israel is joining us and we will make by. Israel alone controls entire USA and world order. So India will stand with Israel and control Mr. Trump. Prime Minister Modi has completely changed the game.”

NewsMobile investigated the viral video and found it to be a deepfake created using AI-generated audio.
We first traced the original source of the footage and found that the video was taken from a special media briefing on the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, streamed live on the Ministry of External Affairs’ verified YouTube channel on May 26, 2026.
During the briefing, Naidu spoke about the Quad’s commitment to a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. He highlighted new areas of cooperation, including maritime domain awareness, critical minerals, and emerging technologies such as 6G. He also underscored the group’s continued momentum, noting that regular ministerial-level engagements reflect the Quad’s strong and sustained commitment despite challenges in scheduling a leaders’ summit.
However, at no point during the briefing did Naidu make the remarks heard in the viral clip.
To further verify the authenticity of the audio, NewsMobile analysed the video using AI-detection tool Hive Moderation. The analysis indicated a high likelihood that the audio had been artificially generated or manipulated using AI.

Additionally, the Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit dismissed the claim on its official Instagram account, describing the video as “fake” and “AI-generated.”
