A video purportedly showing police personnel riding multiple newly introduced motorcycles has gone viral on social media with the claim that it shows a new patrol bike initiative launched under the newly appointed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK Supremo, C. Joseph Vijay.
The claim suggests that the footage is recent and linked to a newly introduced state-level policing initiative.

NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that it is misleading.
To verify this, a reverse image search was conducted on keyframes from the viral video. The investigation traced the same footage to earlier uploads on social media, including a post by a Facebook page associated with Polimer News. The video was also shared with a caption dated January 25, 2023, stating that patrol units would be active 24 hours a day as part of a police initiative to improve emergency response, as mentioned by the Salem Superintendent of Police.

Further verification found the same visuals were uploaded on the official Facebook page of the Salem district police. According to the post, dated January 24, 2026, the initiative was inaugurated by Salem District Superintendent of Police Mr. Gautam Goyal, introducing 24-hour two-wheeler patrols across multiple police stations in the district for emergency and public assistance.
These findings clearly show that the video is not related to any new announcement by C. Joseph Vijay or his tenure as Chief Minister. Instead, it is an older clip from a previously implemented police patrol initiative in Salem district that has been recirculated with a misleading claim.
