To verify the authenticity of the video, we extracted several keyframes and conducted a Reverse Image Search. The search led us to an Instagram account, ‘fadingwishperzz’, which had posted the same video on June 4, 2025.
This establishes that the clip predates IPL 2026 and is not related to RCB’s latest title triumph.
To gather further context, we conducted a keyword search and found reports published by ABP News and The Indian Express on June 4, 2025. According to these reports, the video was recorded after RCB won its maiden IPL title in 2025. Following the victory, Kohli was seen getting emotional and embracing Anushka Sharma during the celebrations.
While videos and images of Kohli and Anushka celebrating RCB’s IPL 2026 victory have surfaced online, the viral clip being shared is from the team’s title-winning campaign in 2025, not 2026.
Therefore, we conclude that the viral video is being shared with a misleading claim.
