Following President Draupadi Murmu’s address marking the start of the Budget Session on January 28, 2026, a photo purportedly showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming face-to-face with Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi inside Parliament has surfaced on social media. The image is being shared with claims that it is a recent photograph from the ongoing session.

NewsMobile investigated the viral image and found that it has been digitally generated using artificial intelligence.
A Reverse Image Search, along with extensive keyword-based checks, did not return any credible news reports, official photographs, or verified social media posts to support the claim. Notably, had such a confrontation taken place inside Parliament, it would almost certainly have been widely reported by national media outlets.
A closer visual analysis of the image reveals several red flags commonly associated with AI-generated content. These include uneven and inconsistent lighting, unnatural facial blending, distorted facial features, and an overly smooth, artificial-looking background—strong indicators of digital manipulation.
To further verify the claim, NewsMobile analysed the image using AI-detection tools Sightengine and Hive Moderation. Both tools flagged the image as AI-generated, conclusively establishing that the viral photograph is fabricated.
The image claiming to show a recent face-off between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi inside Parliament is not authentic. NewsMobile’s investigation confirms that the photograph has been artificially generated using AI.
