A video is being widely circulated on social media claiming to show a Muslim man being caught in a Hindu-majority village for allegedly pretending to be disabled in order to beg. In the clip, the man is seen pleading and apologising after being confronted, with users sharing it to suggest such incidents are common.

NewsMobile investigated the viral post and found the claims to be false.
To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video. This led us to a Facebook post uploaded on 2 March 2026 by a page named “Shyam Marg,” which carried the same video.
On examining the page, we found a clear disclaimer stating that the videos uploaded are scripted and created for social awareness purposes. The content is intended to educate viewers about issues like fraud and scams, not to depict real-life incidents.
Further review of the page showed that the same individual appearing in the viral clip features in multiple videos across different roles. This strongly indicates that he is an actor and that the video is staged.
Such scripted videos are commonly created by content creators to highlight social issues. However, when these clips are shared without context, they are often misinterpreted as real incidents, sometimes leading to misinformation and communal narratives.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show a Muslim man being caught in a Hindu-majority village for allegedly pretending to be disabled in order to beg, is false.
