A video purportedly showing a dramatic police chase in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is circulating widely on social media. The footage appears to show a man allegedly trying to escape from the police by running through traffic, jumping onto the roof of a moving bus and climbing onto an advertising hoarding. Social media users are claiming that the video shows a thief in Indore escaping from the police before eventually being caught.
The video is being circulated with the caption, “Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking video of a chase between police and a suspected thief in a busy market has gone viral. To escape the police, the accused ran between moving vehicles, jumped onto a bus roof and climbed onto an advertising board. The entire incident looked like an action scene from a film. However, the police continued the chase and eventually caught him.”

NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the video is AI-generated.
The NM team initiated its verification by closely examining the viral video. Several inconsistencies were immediately noticeable. The text on the advertising board as well as the signboards visible outside shops appears unclear and distorted, raising questions about the authenticity of the footage.
We then attempted to trace the original source of the video through keyframe searches. This led us to an X post by user Rahul Nanda, dated August 8, 2026. Unlike the viral claim, the post identified the footage as an AI-created video. According to the user, the video was generated using Seedance 2.5.

Further investigation revealed that the account’s bio also describes its owner as an “AI filmmaker,” providing additional context about the nature of the content being produced.
We also subjected the viral footage to the AI-detection tool Hive Moderation for further verification. It flagged the video as likely being AI-generated.
Hence, it is evident that the viral video claiming to show a thief escaping from police in Indore is AI-generated and does not depict a real incident in the city.
