A video purportedly showing a man hanging from a bridge being attacked by a crocodile is being widely shared on social media. Users claim the incident is real and that the man lost his life while trying to shoot a reel. According to the viral claim, the crocodile dragged him into the water and killed him.

The NM team initiated its verification by extracting keyframes from the viral video and running them through a reverse image search. However, the search did not return any credible news reports, eyewitness accounts, or authentic versions of the clip, suggesting that no such incident had been reported.
A closer examination of the footage revealed several inconsistencies commonly associated with AI-generated videos. The visuals could not be traced to any credible source online, the crocodile’s movements and the way it suddenly snatched the man appeared unnatural, and the victim’s body movements lacked realistic human motion.
To further verify the clip, the team analyzed it using Hive Moderation, an AI detection tool. The analysis indicated a high likelihood that the video was created using artificial intelligence.
Based on these findings, it is evident that the viral video does not depict a real incident and is AI-generated.
