Days after the launch of the “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) campaign, reportedly triggered by an alleged remark made by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant about the country’s youth, a video featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has surfaced on social media. In the clip, Khan appears to praise the “Cockroach Janata Party” and encourages people to join it.

NewsMobile investigated the viral video and found the claim to be false. The video has been digitally manipulated using AI-generated audio.
To verify the claim, we first conducted a keyword search using Google. However, we found no credible news reports suggesting that Shah Rukh Khan had made any statement endorsing or promoting the so-called “Cockroach Janata Party.” Given Khan’s stature and public profile, such a remark would have attracted widespread media attention. A review of his official social media accounts also revealed no such statement.
We then extracted multiple keyframes from the viral video and ran them through Google Lens. This led us to the original video uploaded on the YouTube channel Sree Gokulam Movies on September 10, 2023. The footage was related to the promotion of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film Jawan. A comparison confirmed that Khan is wearing the same outfit and appears in the same setting as seen in the viral clip.
This establishes that the viral video has been created by repurposing an older promotional video and altering its audio to convey a misleading message.
For additional verification, we analysed the clip using the AI-detection tool UncovAI, which flagged the audio as AI-generated and identified the video as a probable deepfake.

In conclusion, the viral video purportedly showing Shah Rukh Khan endorsing the “Cockroach Janata Party” is a deepfake created by digitally manipulating an old promotional video.
