Zee News employee refuses to get tested for COVID-19? Here’s the truth behind this video

After 28 employees of Zee News tested positive for COVID-19, a video started doing the rounds on social media, in which a man can be seen pushing a health care worker. It is being claimed that a Zee News employee refused to get tested and assaulted a doctor.

“Viral video of Zee News staff member assaulting doctor refusing to get tested. Can we share this like a few thousand times before checking for authenticity like news channels do”- the caption read.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found the claim to be false.

We extracted the keyframes of the video using Invid and put them through Reverse Image Search. In results, we found a tweet by CGTN dated October 15, 2018, featuring the same video.

The video was captioned -‘Public outcry over Chinese gynecologist beaten by patient’s family’

According to the report, the incident took place on September 22, 2018, where a gynecologist at the Peking University First Hospital in Beijing who was assaulted by a pregnant patient and two disgruntled family members.

Hence, the above information proves that the video in circulation has no connection with COVID-19 as it is old and is NOT from India.
