Celebrated British-Indian restaurateur Asma Khan has added another remarkable accolade to her name by featuring in “195” — a groundbreaking musical project that has officially entered the Guinness World Records for the most nationalities to contribute vocals to a single song.
Produced by The Frequency School, “195” brought together women from every country on the planet to raise global awareness about gender equality and mental health. The song premiered at the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, earlier this year.
Asma Khan, the star of Netflix’s Chef’s Table and founder of London’s acclaimed Darjeeling Express, joined 194 other women in lending her voice to the song, which is infused with healing frequencies designed to uplift and inspire. Khan’s participation in the project aligns with her long-standing advocacy for women’s empowerment — values that are also at the core of her all-women kitchen team and her personal journey from Kolkata to the heart of the UK’s culinary scene.
Asma Khan’s involvement in the song marks another high point in a year of recognition. In 2024, she was named among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. A vocal advocate for the United Nations World Food Programme, Khan also holds honorary fellowships from both Queen’s College, Oxford, and King’s College, London, where she earned a PhD in British Constitutional Law.
