Why Sushma skipped the swearing in ceremony of Modi’s Union Council of ministers?

Date:

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inducted 19 new faces in the expansion of his Union Council of Ministers at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. While almost all the prominent ministers of the Modi cabinet were present at the Oath taking ceremony, one key person was missing – External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

Well, it has to be breaking news stuff, but this time Swaraj played it smartly as she took it to twitter well in advance to inform the media about her absence saying, “Sushma skips Oath Ceremony.”

Swaraj missed the event as she had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Hungary, was probably anticipating such a thing.

She knew that her absence would be noticed and talked about. So, when her absence became a topic of debate in newsrooms, she took a dig at the media.

And this time Twitterati applauded Swaraj’s move:

Earlier media had speculated about Modi taking charge of foreign policy and Sushma getting sidelined in stewarding the foreign policy forward.
