New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inducted 19 new faces in the expansion of his Union Council of Ministers at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. While almost all the prominent ministers of the Modi cabinet were present at the Oath taking ceremony, one key person was missing – External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Well, it has to be breaking news stuff, but this time Swaraj played it smartly as she took it to twitter well in advance to inform the media about her absence saying, “Sushma skips Oath Ceremony.”
Media – Pl avoid the headline : ‘Sushma skips Oath Ceremony’.

’
Swaraj missed the event as she had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Hungary, was probably anticipating such a thing.
I am unable to attend the swearing in ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhawan since I have a meeting with Foreign Minister of Hungary. /1

She knew that her absence would be noticed and talked about. So, when her absence became a topic of debate in newsrooms, she took a dig at the media.
And this time Twitterati applauded Swaraj’s move:
@SushmaSwaraj that’s quite intelligent mam . Prevention is better than cure

Earlier media had speculated about Modi taking charge of foreign policy and Sushma getting sidelined in stewarding the foreign policy forward.
