New Delhi: Renowned journalist, author, and poet Pradeep Sardana marked a major milestone, celebrating 50 years in journalism with tributes from top political leaders and artists across India.
An event was held in New Delhi to commemorate Sardana’s golden jubilee, organised by ‘Aadharshila’ — a collective of writers, journalists, and artists. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, former Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, MP Manoj Tiwari, and cultural icons such as Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh and Padma Shri Shila Jhunjhunwala were in attendance.
“Few people leave a legacy like Pradeep Sardana,” said Gadkari, praising Sardana’s decades-long dedication to journalistic integrity. “He never compromised with his principles or honesty. His writings span politics, art, health, and cinema — a testament to his versatility.”
Malhotra described Sardana as a “living legend,” noting that he began his journalism journey at 14 and became the country’s youngest editor at 17. “From print to digital, he has excelled in every medium,” he said.
MP Manoj Tiwari called Sardana’s body of work “remarkable,” while dancer Sonal Mansingh added, “He is a man of many talents, whose contribution to journalism is invaluable.”
The event also featured congratulatory video messages from high-profile personalities, including Google Asia’s Sanjay Gupta, actor Anupam Kher, singer Udit Narayan, and “Taarak Mehta” star Dilip Joshi.
Unable to attend the event due to prior commitments, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan later visited Sardana at his East Delhi home to offer personal congratulations.
“Pradeep ji’s journey is both brilliant and inspiring,” the Governor said. “His dedication continues to enlighten the nation.”
Reflecting on the Governor’s visit, Sardana said, “His humility and warmth have given me renewed energy to continue my work.”
Sardana’s five-decade career spans journalism, poetry, television, and cultural commentary — a legacy that continues to shape public discourse in India.
