Date:

With artificial intelligence (AI) becoming more integral on our smart devices, tech giant Apple is working on a dedicated AI processor that would power AI-related tasks on its mobile devices.

According to a report in Bloomberg, the processor, Apple Neural Engine as it is reportedly being called, will be designed to handle tasks that are heavily dependent on facial and speech recognition algorithms,

The processor is also believed to enhance the battery life of an iPhone, enabling smoother performance.

Earlier in February, the Apple had announced its expansion plans, with a focus on introducing AI and machine learning related functions in its devices and software.
