Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, bringing an end to a highly successful spell at the English side.
The 31-year-old Portugal midfielder has been a key figure for City since joining from Monaco in 2017, making 451 appearances while scoring 76 goals and providing 77 assists.
During his time at the club, Silva won 15 major honours, including six Premier League titles and the historic Treble in the 2022-23 season. He was also part of the ‘Centurions’ squad that secured 100 points in the 2017-18 campaign and the side that achieved a domestic quadruple in 2018-19.
Silva, who was named captain following the departure of Kevin De Bruyne last season, is among the club’s most consistent performers and ranks joint-eighth in City’s all-time appearance list.
Reflecting on his journey, Silva said the achievements and memories at the club would always remain close to his heart, adding that he leaves as a lifelong supporter of the team.
Manchester City are currently second in the league standings and are set to face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals on April 25, as Silva prepares for his final weeks at the club.
