India defeats Australia in Match 7 in Deaf-ICC World Cup T20

With another cracker of a performance by Imran DccB who picked up five wickets in his four overs, giving away just 17 runs, India got its third consecutive victory in the ongoing Deaf ICC T20 World Cup 2018. Along with Jitender Tyagi who picked up three wickets in his four overs, giving away just 7 runs, the Indian bowlers were able to topple the Australians for just 75 runs in 14.2 overs. The team from down under had won the toss and elected to bat first.

However, the Australian bowlers did put up a fight taking two wickets. However, a solid 46 of 31 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours by Vipul Patel and another 27 runs of 27 balls from Jitender Tyagi ensured that the Indians finished the match in just 11.2 overs.

Kiran Sane, coach of the host team said on the win, “This was a big match for us. Australia is a tough team. We were able to successfully execute our strategy and planning well. Imran was able to use his pace very well. This quality of cricket that we are playing has come after a lot of hard work over the last 2-3 months. This does not happen in just a day. We have won the last three consecutive matches convincingly as a result. The Australian team is very good, but we have a lot of great talent in our team.”

With teams from as many as 5 countries including the DCS team from India participating in the T20 World Cup over the seven-day-tournament vying for top honours, the Deaf-ICC T20 World Cup holders promises to be an exciting cricket series. The tournament, being held between 24th November and 30th November 2018 in the National Capital Region. Countries participating include Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and South Africa, apart from host DCS from India.
