India have strengthened their hold on the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, continuing their dominance in the format following their triumph at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India sit comfortably at No.1 with 275 rating points. England are second with 262 points, while Australia remain close behind in third with 258.
The rankings take into account all matches played since May 2025 at full value, with results from the previous two years weighted at 50 per cent.
India’s top position reflects their remarkable consistency, having won back-to-back T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026 while remaining unbeaten in bilateral T20I series during this period.
The rest of the top seven remain unchanged, with New Zealand (247), South Africa (244), Pakistan (240), and West Indies (233) retaining their spots.
Further down, Bangladesh climbed to eighth with 225 points, overtaking Sri Lanka, which slipped to ninth. Afghanistan are 10th with 220 points.
Among the emerging sides, the United States moved up to 13th, while Italy made one of the biggest gains, rising three places to 23rd after an impressive T20 World Cup debut that included a dominant win over Nepal.
The updated rankings now feature 98 teams, with four sides removed for not meeting the minimum match criteria.
