Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka as a replacement for injured English seamer Brydon Carse for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.
Carse has been ruled out due to injury, prompting SRH to bring in Madushanka, a left-arm medium pacer with international experience across formats. The 24-year-old has featured in one Test, 28 ODIs and 19 T20Is for Sri Lanka, claiming a total of 70 wickets. He joins the franchise for a fee of ₹75 lakh.
Madushanka is no stranger to the IPL, having previously been part of Mumbai Indians, and is expected to strengthen SRH’s pace attack as the tournament progresses.
SRH are currently placed fourth on the points table with two wins from five matches. They head into their next fixture against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday with renewed confidence following a commanding 57-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.
The win was powered by impressive performances from debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, who shared eight wickets between them to dismantle RR’s batting lineup. Hinge, who claimed four wickets on debut, was named Player of the Match, while Sakib also returned figures of 4/24 in a sensational opening spell.
