New Delhi: India’s golden boy has once again achieved greatness during the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China as Neeraj Chopra clinched the gold medal with a season-best throw, covering an impressive distance of 88.88 metres.
The Olympic gold medalist has clinched his second consecutive gold at the Asian Games.

Reacting to Chopra’s gold medal win, India’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, in a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), said, “Our Champion@Neeraj_chopra1successfully defends his #AsianGames Title with a Season Best throw of 88.88m in Men’s Javelin💪 His medal marks a historic milestone for 🇮🇳, surpassing our previous record of 16 Gold medals (2018 Jakarta) at the #AsianGames, making this our most successful Gold medal tally ever!”

Meanwhile, India’s Kishore Jena also demonstrated exceptional skills, clinching the silver with a phenomenal throw of 87.54 metres, marking a personal best.

Additionally, Muhammad Anas, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal, and Rajesh Ramesh clinched the gold medal in the men’s 4×400 relay, leaving Qatar trailing in their wake. Meanwhile, on the women’s front, the quartet of Vithya, Aishwarya, Prachi, and Subha secured a well-deserved silver medal.
