Bank of America vice president Erin Piacenti, 32, was killed in a stabbing incident at Times Square on Monday
Piacenti worked in the bank’s business selection and conflicts unit. Bank of America expressed shock over her death and offered condolences to her family and loved ones.
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones,” according to sources quoted by reports banking company said in a statement.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said a woman carrying several knives attacked two people in Times Square before police used a Taser and fired their weapons.
The NYPD said Piacenti suffered stab wounds and was later pronounced dead. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the attacks appeared to be random and unprovoked.
The NYPD identified the suspect as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, who was killed as officers responded to the incident. “The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Force Investigation Division,” the department said.
The incident occurred near Bank of America’s Manhattan office at One Bryant Park. It follows the fatal shooting of a senior Blackstone executive in midtown Manhattan last summer.
