US President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Joe Biden over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, claiming that the conflict is a direct consequence of the 2020 presidential election and poor leadership from both Washington and Kyiv. In a strongly worded post on Truth Social on Monday, Trump distanced himself from the war and blamed Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for failing to prevent the bloodshed.
Trump argued that his administration had successfully kept Russian President Vladimir Putin in check and suggested that the war would have been avoided entirely if he had remained in office. “This is Biden’s war, not mine,” Trump wrote, portraying himself as a global stabilizer during his presidency. “Putin respected the United States when I was in charge.”

Reiterating his long-standing claim that the 2020 election was “rigged,” Trump suggested that the current conflict was a product of an election he insists was stolen from him. “If the election hadn’t been rigged, this terrible war would have never started,” he declared.
The US president didn’t hold back in his criticism of President Zelenskyy either, saying both Zelenskyy and Biden showed “incompetence” in handling the situation. “There were countless ways to stop this from ever happening,” Trump said, “but they failed.”
His latest remarks came a day after a Russian missile strike killed civilians in the Ukrainian city of Sumy. Trump called the attack “a horrible mistake.”
