External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday strongly condemned the fatal shooting of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, DC. Jaishankar expressed solidarity with Israel and extended his condolences to the victims’ families and colleagues.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), EAM Jaishankar wrote, “Condemn in the strongest term the killing of Israeli diplomats in Washington DC. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and colleagues. The perpetrators must be brought to justice.”

The diplomats, identified as Yaron and Sarah, were gunned down outside the Capital Jewish Museum late Wednesday night, according to reports. The shooting occurred at around 9:15 p.m. local time near an FBI office building on F Street, according to the news outlet.
In a gesture of mourning and solidarity, the Israeli Embassy in India lowered its national flag on Thursday. “In profound sorrow, we lower the flag today to remember Yaron and Sarah, victims of a brutal terrorist act in Washington D.C. May their memory be a blessing,” the embassy said in a statement on X.

In another post Israeli Embassy in India shared the image of both the Israeli Embassy staff members who were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC.
