The meeting assumes significance as Jaishankar is scheduled to travel to the United States next week, according to official sources. His visit is expected to focus on advancing strategic and economic cooperation, particularly in emerging and high-priority sectors.
Meanwhile, the US Department of State has announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will host the inaugural Critical Minerals Ministerial on February 4. The meeting will bring together partners from around the world to enhance collaboration on securing and diversifying critical mineral supply chains—an area that has become increasingly central to India–US cooperation amid global supply chain challenges.
