External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to travel to the United States from June 30 to July 2, 2025, at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday. The visit will mark a key diplomatic engagement as the minister participates in the upcoming Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (QFMM), scheduled for July 1.
The high-level meeting, to be held in the United States, will bring together foreign ministers of the Quad nations—India, the United States, Japan, and Australia. The leaders will review the progress of key Quad initiatives and deliberate on regional and global developments, especially in the Indo-Pacific, a region of growing strategic importance.
The discussions will build on the outcomes of the previous QFMM held in Washington D.C. on January 21, 2025. With India set to host the next Quad Leaders Summit, this meeting is expected to play a vital role in shaping the agenda and deepening cooperation among the member states.
In addition to the Quad meeting, EAM Jaishankar will travel to New York on June 30 to inaugurate an exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the United Nations Headquarters. The exhibition aims to spotlight the far-reaching and often overlooked consequences of terrorism on civilian lives and global security.
