New Delhi: Elon Musk is making headlines as he renamed Twitter to ‘X’ on Monday. Musk took to Twitter to make the announcement, he shared an image of Twitter’s headquarters adorned with the new logo featuring the letter ‘X’.
Earlier, Musk posted a series of tweets, asking users to suggest on a new logo and terminology as per its new identity. “Now that “Twitter” will be known as “X”. What should we call “Tweeting”?” he asks. “X.com now points to twitter.com. Interim X logo goes live later today,” he added. He also confirmed that once the platform changes its name, a tweet will be called “an X”.
Meanwhile, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino on Monday said: “It’s an exceptionally rare thing — in life or in business — that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”
Following Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October, the company underwent a significant transformation by rebranding itself as X Corp. This name change was in alignment with Musk’s ambitious goal of developing a “super app” akin to China’s WeChat, as reported by the New York Post. The bird was temporarily replaced in April by Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu dog, which ended up helping add as much as $4 billion to the meme coin’s market value..
