On Wednesday night, President-elect Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk took the stage at Mar-a-Lago to perform a rendition of God Bless America alongside opera singer Christopher Macchio. The event occurred as Musk joined Trump and other supporters for election night celebrations.

The impromptu duet quickly went viral after Trump’s aide, Margo Martin, shared it on social media. The performance came just one day after Trump announced that Musk would lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency in his administration, alongside Vivek Ramaswamy.

This wasn’t their first time appearing together. In October, Donald Trump, his family, and Elon Musk spoke at a rally in Butler, attended by thousands of supporters. During the event, Trump requested a moment of silence to pay tribute to Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who tragically lost his life at a Pennsylvania rally in July, following an assassination attempt on Trump.
Elon Musk, a strong Trump supporter who has also contributed heavily to pro-Trump causes, has become an influential figure in Trump’s recent political efforts. On Wednesday, Trump appointed Musk to co-lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, another Trump ally and entrepreneur.
Trump issued a statement, saying, “These two exceptional Americans will work together to help my Administration break down government bureaucracy, eliminate unnecessary regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and overhaul federal agencies—key actions in advancing the ‘Save America’ movement.”
