The Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, on Friday, reconstituted the bench for Ayodhya dispute case.
The five-member bench will hear the case on January 29. The bench comprises of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice S A Nazeer.

Justice U U Lalit, who was a member of the original bench had recused himself on January 10. He declined to participate in the hearing any further because he had appeared as a lawyer for former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh in a connected matter ‘sometime in the year 1997.’
Justice N.V. Ramana, who was in the bench which last heard the matter on January 10, is no longer a member in the new bench.
The case pending before the Supreme Court was expected to be heard in October but was postponed several times for different reasons.
As many as 14 appeals have been filed in the apex court challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court judgement, that the 2.77-acre land be partitioned equally among three parties—the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.
