Foreign Diplomats Share Heartfelt Diwali Greetings With Festive Messages

New Delhi: On the joyful occasion of Diwali, foreign diplomats in India extended warm greetings, celebrating the festival of lights with heartfelt messages and vibrant festivities. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to convey their best wishes, highlighting Diwali’s spirit of unity, light, and family.

German Ambassador to India shared glimpses of Diwali festivities at the German Embassy, where both German and Indian staff celebrated together. In his post, he wrote, “What an incredible Diwali night! ✨ Our local staff transformed the German Embassy in India into a vibrant sea of lights, colors, and sounds where 🇩🇪 & 🇮🇳 colleagues shared the stage, with families dancing together. 🎉 Wishing everyone a #HappyDiwali!”

The British High Commission also extended warm wishes, reflecting on the significance of Diwali’s traditions. “The memories we make with our family and friends, the vibrant colours of our rangolis, the warmth of the #Diwali diyas — the significance of the festival of lights extends far beyond India. A very #HappyDiwali to everyone celebrating,” they posted, resonating with the deep cultural connections Diwali brings.

The Delegation of the European Union in India shared candid moments from their own Diwali celebration, capturing scenes of joy and unity. They wished everyone “a Diwali filled with light,” bringing an international touch to the traditional Indian festival.

Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, joined in by posting a video showcasing Diwali celebrations at the Australian High Commission. His festive message embraced the significance of Diwali, extending warm wishes for the festival of lights.

The Israeli Embassy in India shared a touching video commemorating the festival of lights. In their post, they conveyed warm wishes to everyone celebrating, stating, As we celebrate the festival of lights—the victory of good over evil and the homecoming of Lord Ram—we light diyas in unity against all forms of darkness. May these lights bring hope for a brighter future and the safe return of our loved ones.”

Norwegian Ambassador to India May-Elin Stener also shared Diwali greetings.

Japanese Ambassador to India ONO Keiichi also extended his greetings.
