“Foreign Mercenaries Involvement,” says CM Biren Singh After Fresh Violence On Security Forces In Manipur

Date:

Imphal: In the wake of fresh violence within the state, Manipur’s Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, has pointed to the potential involvement of “foreign mercenaries” in the recent assault on security personnel.

“Search and combing operations are widely going on. We suspect the involvement of foreign mercenaries from the Myanmar side. It is our commitment to the people of the state and India that we will not succumb to this kind of pressure,” Singh said.

All the injured security personnel are reportedly in a critical stage and are receiving treatment. The chief minister visited the injured soldiers in the hospital.

“My heartfelt thoughts are with the victims and their families in this challenging time. We’re committed to tackling those bent on destabilising Manipur, ensuring justice for the victims with decisive actions against the responsible parties,” the Manipur CM said.

Earlier, a clash between militants and security forces in Moreh, a border town, resulted in injuries to seven personnel, including four police commandos and three BSF soldiers.
