US Democratic Presidential nominee Kamal Harris has thanked US President Joe Biden for his “lifetime of service” to the nation. While addressing the opening of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the 59-year-old leader said the country was “forever grateful” to Biden for his leadership.
Harris said, “I want to kick us off by celebrating our incredible president, Joe Biden. Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, for your lifetime of service to our nation. We are forever grateful to you.”
“Let us fight for the ideals we hold dear and let us always remember, when we fight we win!” she added.
Kamala Harris is the first black woman and Asian American to lead a major party ticket.
Biden delivered a keynote address on Tuesday and said, ” There is no place in America for political violence. None. You cannot say you love your country when you win…”
