Pandya will be looking to solve the most important question after the failure of the World Cup campaign, the opening pair for the side. With Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, and Ishan Kishan, the creation of a perfect pair will be a major task in the series.
The middle order is likely to be managed by Surya. However, with Dinesh Karthik out of the picture, Hardik Pandya will have to establish himself as the finisher for the side and get runs toward the end.
Like the Australian conditions, bowling will pose a major concern in this tour, especially in Wellington. Umran Malik, the raw speedster can be adjusted in the mix of playing Xi in the series after being dropped from the side before the World Cup.
Arshdeep Singh will take charge of the Indian bowling attack after a successful World Cup campaign, and Laxman will have to figure out the third seamer between Mohammad Siraj and Harshal Patel.
The series against New Zealand will have three T20Is followed by three ODIs. Matches will be broadcasted on Amazon Prime Videos. The tour has no private TV broadcaster, however, DD Sports might telecast the live coverage.
The T20Is will start at 12 pm IST while ODIs will start at 7 am IST.
T20I Squad: Hardik Pandya (C), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.
