How Much Prize Money Did Men In Blue Take Home After Clinching Champions Trophy?

Date:

India’s unbeaten run in the ICC Champions Trophy continued as they defeated New Zealand in the final on Sunday, securing their third title in the tournament’s history (with two wins and one shared). Rohit Sharma led his team, topping the run-scoring charts and playing a crucial role in their victory.

As a reward, the team received Rs 20 crore ($2.24 million) from the International Cricket Council. Interestingly, this amount is still lower than Rishabh Pant’s salary in the IPL 2025 auction, where he was bought for INR 27 crore despite not featuring in any matches during the Champions Trophy.

India triumphed over New Zealand by 4 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, claiming the Champions Trophy title and the Rs 20 crore prize. New Zealand, who finished as runners-up, received Rs 9.72 crore ($1.12 million).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) praised the team’s remarkable performance and their victory after 12 years.

A BCCI statement said, “From the beginning, the team aimed for excellence, overcoming tough challenges with fearless and disciplined cricket. Their unbeaten run in the ICC tournament reflects their consistency, strategic execution, and desire to succeed. The final against New Zealand was a perfect display of resilience and handling high-pressure situations.”

BCCI President Roger Binny added, “This victory is a landmark moment for Indian cricket, following the high of last year’s T20 World Cup success. To dominate another global tournament and win the Champions Trophy is a phenomenal achievement. The team displayed remarkable consistency and character, and I congratulate captain Rohit Sharma, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir, and the entire squad on their historic triumph.”
