In the rain-hit match played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, India chased down the target of 95 runs in 17.2 overs on the fifth and final day to secure a big win.
Yashaswi Jaiswal followed up his first innings half century with 51, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 29. The young Indian opener had scored 72 in 51 balls in India’s first innings. The two half-centuries came on the back of 56 in the Chennai Test.
The Tuesday victory helped India strengthen its position at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. They have 74.24 PCT% now.
