New York: The Consulate General of India in New York organised a rejuvenating yoga session at Central Park, creating an evening of vibrant energy ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026.
The event highlighted wellness in the heart of New York City, with participation from students and local community members in collaboration with Bronx Community College.

Across the world, Indian diplomatic missions marked the lead-up to International Day of Yoga, to be observed on June 21 under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, which emphasises holistic health, well-being and inner harmony across generations.
In Kuwait, the Embassy of India hosted a mass yoga session at Boulevard Cricket Stadium as part of a three-day Yoga Festival, drawing more than 2,200 participants including diplomats, officials, community leaders, students and yoga enthusiasts.
In Finland, the Embassy of India along with the Finnish-Indian society Suomi-Intia Seura organised a Midnight Yoga Session at Ounasvaara in Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle under the midnight sun.
Yoga events were also held in the Philippines, Fiji, Colombia and Armenia in collaboration with local organisations, reflecting its growing global appeal and role in strengthening people-to-people ties.
Indian missions in the United States also organised sessions in cities such as Seattle and New York as part of widespread outreach activities ahead of the global observance.
