The IDF issued a statement declaring, “There are no more living Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity.”

According to the IDF, the freed hostages are being escorted back to Israel by personnel from the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) for initial medical assessments. Upon arrival, they will undergo both medical and psychological evaluations before reuniting with their families at designated reception centres in southern Israel.

The latest group of released hostages includes Elkana Bohbot, Avinatan Or, Yosef-Haim Ohana, Evyatar David, Rom Braslavski, Segev Kalfon, Nimrod Cohen, Maxim Herkin, Eitan Horn, Matan Zangauker, Bar Kupershtein, David Cunio, and Ariel Cunio.

Earlier in the day, Hamas had freed seven hostages of the 20 still alive in Gaza have been handed over by the Red Cross to Israeli forces in Northern Gaza, according to i24 News Israel.

The group of seven includes Gali and Ziv Berman, Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, and Guy Gilboa-Dallal. Reports indicate that the hostages will undergo a brief psychological evaluation upon release, as per Hebrew media.

In Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square and along southern roads near the Gaza border, hundreds of people gathered, waving flags and holding photographs of the captives. The atmosphere was charged with a mix of relief and excitement as news spread that the first hostages would soon be transferred to the Red Cross in northern Gaza.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office shared a personal message from PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, welcoming the returning hostages. The message read: “On behalf of the entire people of Israel, welcome back! We have been waiting for you. We embrace you. Sara and Benjamin Netanyahu.”

Under the deal brokered by US President Donald Trump, Israel will release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the Israeli hostages. The agreement also ensures the immediate provision of full aid to Gaza, which has faced severe food shortages and famine in parts of the territory.
