The result of the counting of votes of the JNU elections resulted in Left Unity which won all four key posts in the Jawaharlal Nehru University. The counting of the votes resumed on the Saturday evening after the suspension of votes for nearly 14 hours.

The Left group’s N Sai Balaji has been elected as the president, Sarika Chaudhary as the vice president, Aejaz Ahmed Rather as the general secretary and Amutha Jayadeep as the joint secretary.
While N Sai Balaji bagged 2,161 votes, Sarika Choudhary got 2,692 votes, Aejaj Ahmed polled 2,423 votes and Amutha won 2,047.

Meanwhile, on Saturday ABVP allegedly created ruckus in between the counting of the votes. There was high drama on Saturday following which two teachers from the Grievance Redressal Cell were appointed as observers for the exercise, officials said.
