Elon Musk has announced that his AI company, xAI, will launch a new AI-driven gaming studio to challenge the influence of large corporations that he believes are promoting ideologically biased video games.
His comments came in response to a post by Billy Markus, co-creator of Dogecoin, who expressed frustration with the current direction of the gaming industry. Markus noted that gamers have traditionally been skeptical of corporations and manipulative trends, questioning why the gaming community has embraced such changes.
In his reply, Musk said, “Too many game studios are controlled by huge corporations. xAI will create an AI gaming studio to make games great again!” His remark references the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) slogan, which Musk has been closely linked to during the U.S. presidential election.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, also expressed his disapproval of the pronoun selection feature in the upcoming Xbox game Avowed. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating that “having pronouns in a fantasy video game is completely unacceptable,” followed by an angry emoji.
Elon Musk, describing AI gaming as the “future” of the industry, also commented on a post that accused Microsoft’s gaming division of discrimination in its hiring practices. The post alleged that the division was excluding white applicants and prioritizing the hiring of unqualified queer and black individuals due to a company directive against hiring “crusty old white dudes.” In his response, Musk tagged Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, stating, “Um, @satyanadella, this is illegal.”
