A hot favourite destination now is just a ferry ride away. The Maldives attracts a fairly decent number of Indian travellers every year. Keeping in mind the tourist influx between the two lands, recently a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The two leaders have agreed to get passenger and cargo services started via sea.
There were talks for the last eight years but the idea has only materialised now. The idea is taking shape now and soon enough there will be a ferry to connect Maldives and India.

The distance between Kochi and the Maldivian capital, Malé via sea route is around 700 km.
The time to reach the island will be around 24 hours but the travel time and experience is worth your time.
While any confirmed date has not been declared for the service to start, we already have our bags packed to hop on the ferry to our Maldivian dream!
