Mumbai Rains: City Waterlogged, IMD Issues High Tide Alert

Date:

No relief for Mumbaikars as India’s financial capital continues to grapple with incessant rain. Rain lashed several parts of Mumbai on Saturday morning , causing waterlogging and traffic snarls in the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and Thane districts, predicting heavy rainfall on Saturday, July 13.

They also issued a warning for high tide in the sea in Mumbai that is likely to go up to 3.69 metres.

IMD has also sounded an orange alert for areas like Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts in Maharashtra’s Konkan region.

One of the busiest suburbs in Andheri has been cut off due to very high levels of water making it nearly impossible for commuters to pass through.

Temperatures are expected to range between 29°C and 24°C. IMD has also cautioned that Mumbaikars should prepare for continued rainfall over the next few days until July 15.
