The Delhi government on Friday decided to cancel all sporting events, including IPL matches, in the national capital.
“We have decided to ban any sports activity where people will gather in huge numbers like IPL. Social distancing is important to curb the breakout of Coronavirus,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said while briefing the media on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday, the government shut schools, colleges as well as cinema halls till March 31. So far, the cases in India has gone up to 76 with one employee each of Google office in Bengaluru and a Noida based company being tested positive.

The first death from coronavirus in the country was reported on Thursday in Karnataka where a 76-year-old man passed away.
