‘Not 1950s Anymore’: Kamala Harris Dismisses Criticism For Not Having Biological Children

Date:

US Vice President Kamala Harris has responded to Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sander’s recent criticism  which suggested Harris lacks humility because she doesn’t have biological children. Speaking during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy Podcast Harris challenged the outdated notion, celebrating her “modern family” and highlighting the evolving definition of family in today’s society.

“I don’t think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who, one, are not aspiring to be humble, two, a whole lot of women out here who have a lot of love in their life, family in their life, and children in their life,” Harris told Cooper on “Call Her Daddy.”

Harris is a stepmother to two now-adult children from her marriage to Doug Emhoff.

“I feel sorry for her, and I’m going to tell you why. Because I don’t think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who one, are not aspiring to be humble. I love those kids to death. Family comes in many forms, and I think that increasingly, all of us understand that this is not the 1950s anymore,” Harris added.
