New Delhi: While farmers from across the country are headed to the national capital and staged a protest against the government in the heart of Delhi, opposition parties used it as an opportunity to capitalise it to kick-start their campaign for the upcoming 2019 polls.
Opposition leaders including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Farooq Abdullah, Sitharam Yachuri, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Sharad Yadav addressed the distressed farmers at Delhi’s Jantar Manter.
Rahul Gandhi slammed the Modi government on not fulfilling the promise of MSP.
“Modi ji had promised MSP will be increased, PM promised bonus, but look at the situation right now, empty speeches are being given and nothing else,” Rahul Gandhi said.
