The game took a dramatic turn when Amit Rohidas was red-carded for a stick infraction, leaving India a player down. Despite this setback, India took a 1-0 lead shortly after the incident, with captain Harmanpreet Singh scoring from a penalty corner, marking his seventh goal at Paris 2024.
Great Britain responded just before halftime, with Lee Morton equalizing to bring the score to 1-1. In the second half, Great Britain failed to score, despite multiple opportunities.
Earlier on Friday, the Indian hockey team made history by defeating Australia 3-2 in their final Pool B match at the Paris Olympics 2024, marking the first time since the 1972 Olympics that India has triumphed over Australia.
