With the Paris Olympics 2024 just around the corner, Indian athletes are gearing up to set new records and bring home medals. The highly anticipated event will kick off with an unprecedented opening ceremony on the river Seine on July 26th.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony will be a spectacle unlike any other, featuring a river parade along a 6 km stretch of the River Seine, concluding at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. An estimated 3,00,000 spectators are expected to line the banks of the Seine to witness this unique event.
Schedule & Venues
The Paris 2024 Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, followed by the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8. Paris, awarded the 2024 Games in September 2017, will host the event 100 years after its last Olympics in 1924, making it a historic occasion.
The city will use multiple iconic venues for the events, including the Eiffel Tower Stadium for beach volleyball and the Grand Palais for fencing and taekwondo.
Among the key venues are the Aquatics Centre for swimming events, Bercy Arena for gymnastics and basketball, and Stade Roland-Garros for boxing and tennis. The famed Stade de France will host athletics and rugby sevens, while surfing will take place at Teahupo’o in Tahiti.
