According to an official statement, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his best wishes for President Putin’s good health and success, while also expressing satisfaction over the steady progress made in diverse areas of cooperation. The two leaders reviewed key aspects of the bilateral agenda, including defence collaboration, energy partnerships, and trade expansion, reiterating their shared vision for deepening strategic and economic ties.
The conversation also touched upon upcoming high-level engagements, with Prime Minister Modi noting that he looks forward to welcoming President Putin to India later this year for the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit, scheduled for December 2025.
This latest exchange follows a previous conversation between the two leaders, during which they discussed ongoing projects and reaffirmed the “strong and time-tested” nature of India–Russia relations. President Putin had publicly referred to that discussion during a meeting with members of the Russian government, emphasizing the depth of Moscow’s partnership with New Delhi.
