Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) showcased their batting firepower in a dominant five-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday. Nicholas Pooran’s blistering 70 and Mitchell Marsh’s composed half-century formed the backbone of LSG’s successful chase, as they comfortably overhauled the target with 23 balls to spare.

The chase began with an early setback as Aiden Markram departed cheaply, but Pooran wasted no time in taking charge. Unleashing a flurry of boundaries, he kept the scoreboard ticking at an electrifying pace. Marsh joined the onslaught, and together they dismantled SRH’s bowling attack with a breathtaking 116-run partnership in just 43 balls. Their fearless stroke play left the home side struggling for answers as runs flowed with ease.
Despite a late twist with both Pooran and Marsh falling in quick succession to Pat Cummins, LSG remained firmly in control. A few wickets fell in the final moments as the visitors attempted to wrap up the game quickly, but the outcome was already sealed. Abdul Samad added the finishing touches, guiding LSG across the line in emphatic fashion.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) delivered a disciplined bowling performance, led by Shardul Thakur’s brilliant four-wicket haul, to keep Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to 190 in their innings. Thakur set the tone early, striking twice in consecutive deliveries to remove Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, putting SRH on the back foot.

Despite Travis Head’s attacking intent, SRH struggled to build a dominant partnership. Head was given two lifelines but failed to capitalize, falling to Prince before reaching his half-century. Prince made another crucial intervention, playing a part in Heinrich Klaasen’s dismissal as a ricochet off his hands led to the South African’s departure.
Aniket provided some late fireworks, smashing five sixes in a quickfire 36. However, just as he seemed ready to shift gears, LSG once again struck at the right moment, preventing any major acceleration in the death overs.
